There are lots of small hamlets scattered all over the Elena’s Balkan. One of the most attractive is Miikovci. The village consists of 2 villages - Miikovci, Ignatovci and 4 hamlets - Gorni Tanchevci, Tupuzi, Visokovci, Ralinovci. Two more hamlets – Atlarci and Duhlevci were later included. Duhlevci became part of Miikovci and Atlarci is no longer in the lists of settlements because there are no people living there anymore. The hamlets are huddled together in a beautiful valley at the foot of the peak of Chumerna (1536 m).

The village is surrounded by small and high hills. There is a majority of small springs coming from the heart of the Balkans. The place has a specific climate, influenced by the Aegean Sea thus giving excellent conditions for a recreation: sunny and cool summer; and soft, with many snowy days winter. During the summer the rivers are excellent for swimming and the glades nearby are favourable for camping. The hills around the village not only offer a picturesque view but also protect the place from unfavourable atmospheric conditions. The road from the city of Elena to the village of Miikovtsi is passable all the year round.
